I was looking for specific Bratz products I recalled from my childhood, but could not find them online anywhere. I was looking for a Bratz cosmetics line released in 2003 called Lookin’ Bratz. I managed to find some pictures, as well as pictures of various Bratz merchandise I had never seen before. It was at this point that I was inspired to create a Bratz database that went past indexing the dolls and their variants. I wanted to create a Bratz database that included all types of Bratz products, such as dolls, apparel, appliances, collectibles, cosmetics, decor, food items, games, media, party supplies, sports equipment, school supplies, and more! I began my research in the summer of 2015. I initially wanted to create a Bratz product database titled The Bratz Collector, but this eventually flourished into a full-fledged Bratz tribute website titled Lookin’ Bratz. The mission of this website is to preserve Bratz history in an easy and fun format for collectors to reference. The website’s name is an homage to the first Bratz cosmetics line released in 2003, as well as a play on words because people who visit this website are typically Lookin’ for Bratz.

In late 2016, I created an Instagram account under the username @lookinbratz to post fun Bratz artwork, pictures, and scans I had collected over the years. By May 2018, I officially announced LookinBratz.com: the ultimate Bratz fansite! The website was officially launched on May 4, 2020 after years of making sure its content was perfect.

As for my own Bratz story, I began collecting Bratz dolls in 2006. I had been playing with the dolls ever since my aunt, a woman who loves fashion, bought herself a First Edition Yasmin in 2001 because of the doll’s style. I received my first Bratz doll in 2006, a Wild Wild West Kiana gifted to me by my aunt. My mother then bought me a Babyz Forever Diamondz Cloe right before Christmas 2006, and then my love for the dolls took off.

I was always visiting the official Bratz and MGA Entertainment websites as a kid. The pages on the old website featured product pages, games, videos, downloadable wallpapers, and was overall an enjoyable experience. I was also given a taste of the interactive Bratz website released around 2004 before its redesign in 2005. I always dreamed of creating my own Bratz website back then and would keep tons of notebooks with my own designs. I created a few Bratz-themed fansites during my youth prior to creating Lookin’ Bratz, including a Bratz 10th Anniversary Countdown website in 2010 and a Bratzillaz Database in 2012. Creating Lookin’ Bratz has been a dream because it combines my love of Bratz and the old website designs, while also providing a reliable resource for Bratz fans around the world.
