The difficulty for El Capitan users is that the 'bless' command (see previous instructions for making a boot-key; see note. below) fails on Capitan if SIP is enabled. Once the boot-key is blessed properly SIP may be re-enabled and the boot-key will still boot directly into AHT. This is what I needed to do. It was bootable from my more recent macbook pro but not from my 2012 macbook air. After repartitioning and setting up the drive again, I could boot to it by choosing a boot drive from inside disk utility in recovery mode. (holding option key wasn't working for me) – Ryan Silva Oct 19 '17 at 23:37. The bless tool was unable to set the current boot disk.” I reset NVRAM etc, nothing helped. Installed Mojave on an external SSD drive and booted up from that; then tried selecting Bootcamp from there - same ‘bless tool’ message. Where is the file, that contains the ‘bless tool’ that allows me to boot up via the Bootcamp partition?
