EMule is a free peer-to-peer (P2P) file-sharing client for Microsoft Windows that was launched in 2002 as an alternative to eDonkey2000. To date, eMule is one of the world’s largest and most trustworthy P2P file-sharing clients. EMule includes advanced search features, file checks for corruptions while downloading, a preview while downloading function, and a credit system to reward frequent. Ed2khash is a little command line utility that takes an number of files and outputs their ed2k-links. This tool is useful for people who want to know the ed2k-links of files they are not currently sharing, or who want the ed2k-links for all files in certain directories etc. You can hash single files, multiple files, whole directories, or whole.

Use Another Program

If you can’t view the ED2K file by double-clicking it, try opening it in a different program. One of the most popular programs for opening ED2K files is eDonkey Download Link File. Check out the developers’ websites, download one or more of these programs, then try to open your ED2K file again.

Get a Clue From the File Type

One file extension can be used for multiple types of files. Knowing the type of file you have can help you find out how to open it. Most ED2K files are categorized as Uncommon Files, which can be opened by numerous software packages. See if you have a program already installed on your computer that’s designed to open Uncommon Files. Hopefully, this program might also work with your ED2K file.
